Afghan Elderly Association
The AEA has provided comprehensive, community-based services to the Afghan Community for almost 30 years to increase access to health care services to this underserved population and to deliver health education and prevention programs that are culturally responsive. This is done through our Health Promotion Program that provides individual case management, the Healthy Aging Program which meets weekly to provide women a safe place to socialize and share concerns, teach them how to live a healthy lifestyle, and provide a hot, nutritious meal. The AEA has also been providing direct support to newly arrived refugees by assisting with completing paperwork, locating housing, obtaining needed supplies, connecting to medical providers, referrals to vocational programs, support to find jobs, and connections to mental health support.
