Faces of Fremont-KickOff

The Fremont Cultural Arts Council supports Irvington High School students with their “Faces of Fremont” Project in response to the stigmatization and dehumanization of those experiencing housing instability and homelessness in our local community. While the Housing Navigation Center in Fremont has demonstrated success in helping individuals transition to permanent housing in this past year, both the housing eviction crisis and the stigma surrounding unhoused residents has only been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Irvington High School students have launched their own initiative following French artist JR’s global participatory project “Inside Out”, to create a large scale portrait photography installation in a public space in Fremont to make visible the stories of our local community members and our shared humanity. We invite you to the Kickoff Meeting Friday, June 11th at 1:30 PM.
