The Untapped Potential of Young Voters

Although youth voter turnout in 2020 was its highest (at 50%) in 100 years, the potential of this key demographic has for the most part been untapped. A San Jose high school student, Claire Zhu, set out to determine what would happen if more youth voted. Join us in learning the results of her intriguing research study. With her will be Julie Dunkle, league member, and co-founder of the Youth Voter Movement (YVM). This student led organization has registered over 7000 new young voters and it serves as a model for communities far and wide.

Come learn what the current research is telling us and how to get involved. We will also have an interactive session to share, question and learn. Collaboratively, we can fundamentally improve youth voter turnout to ensure our democracy is preserved and strengthened.
