Speech Trek is an annual speech contest that focuses the attention of high school students on a public policy topic. Students prepare and present a 5-6 minute speech. This year, the topic is about the effects that climate change have on women in the U.S. and globally. The contest begins at the local Fremont level (with prizes of 1st: $750, 2nd: $550, 3rd: $350) and the first place Fremont branch winner gets to compete at the State level (State prizes: 1st: $2500, 2nd: $2000, 3rd: $1000, 4th and 5th: $500).
